As Energy professionals, the primary focus of the company is in energy related projects – mostly power generation. Since beginning Astha has participated in several fossil fuel-based power generation projects – both large & small. The expertise in the field helped the company to participate and successfully complete other stand-alone projects involving only portions of the complete power plant, e.g., Pumping Stations, Substations & Industrial Power Distribution, Water Treatment Plants including Desalination, Effluent Treatment Plants, Bulk Material Handling, Fire Protection, etc.(see list)
Following the industry trend, the company now focuses on renewable energy generation using biomass, solid waste as well as solar generation.
The company has entered into a license agreement with Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore for extraction and collection of Sulfur from biogas generated by sewage treatment plant and takes up proprietary equipment design & supply services for such application. The company is also exploring possibility of partnering with organizations holding similar, unique equipment/process design so that a total engineering solution can be provided to end user.
As a responsible environment conscious organization, the company offers services for energy audit, water usage audit and remedial solutions for operating plants.
It may not be out of place to mention that AEPL sister organization, BTIT Engineering Solutions Pvt Ltd., which started its journey simultaneously with Astha is well entrenched in renewable energy with biogas from the very beginning. BTIT is a licensee of IISc,Bangalore for their patented biogas generation technique from wood, rice husk or similar biomass for combustion in a gas engine or a conventional steam generator. The company has tied up with reputed Japanese companies like Satake, Fujita and supplied on EPC basis such plants in Thailand, Myanmar and other South East Asian countries like Vietnam, Malaysia etc. The company is also exploring another patented technology from IISc. of silica extraction as part of downstream integration with biomass power plants. Since silica has a ready market for various uses in chemicals, rubber & adhesive industries, the company is pursuing with offers of design and design cum supply of equipment for silica extraction projects within India and other countries with the Japanese partners. The combined strength of the two companies will definitely be an added advantage for our valued clients.
The company worked with clients in various roles for above mentioned infrastructure projects starting from concept to commissioning. The roles could be for total multi-discipline engagements, for the project owner or the project vendor. We are equally comfortable in all cases. Here is a summary of such roles.

For this project promoted by KSK Energy,SEPCO-China as EPC contractor engaged Astha for engineering of portions of BOP. Astha team of civil engineers deputed at Chinese Design Institute worked for converting the Chinese design for structures and chimney to conform to Indian statutory code requirements.
Astha worked as consultant for Doosan Babcock, the R & M vendor, for renovation and efficiency improvement of this power station. Areas of work involved assessment of conditions of major foundations and structures, high pressure piping, ESP, electricals etc. and design modification as required
On behalf of Ion Exchange India, Astha worked for a no. of projects for conventional water treatment using clarifiers, filtration plants and ion exchange based DM Plant
On behalf of Ion Exchange India, Astha worked for a no. of projects for sea & brackish water RO based desalination
Astha worked for effluent treatment for Jamnagar Refinery Ph II with Ion Exchange involving large aeration systems, MBR etc. with BECREL as owner's consutant; Similar work done for other projects also.
Astha provided engineering services to SPML for pumping station on Panchet reservoir and 25 Km cross-country pipeline along with 33KV transmission line for Santaldih TPS; similar work done for many other projects
Astha designed complete coal handling plants upto 2500 tph capacity, including conveyor trains, crushers, stacker-reclaimers, track hoppers/wagon tipplers etc. as required for power plants.
Astha designed both wet and dry(vacuum & pressure conveying) ash handling systems indluding long distance slurry pumping using HCSD pumps;Astha also developed large ash disposal ponds including preparation of embankments and water recovery arrangements
The following projects are 'special' because they are different from the typical 'run of the mill' assignments
This was a special project taken up by UCIL to augment/replace the existing Permutit based exchange vessels and piping with indigenous design and manufacturing. Astha absorbed the process knowledge from UCIL, worked with them in close co-operation on behalf of Ion Exchange for successful commissioning. Astha earned accolades form UCIL management.
For Crescent Power, a division of CESC, Astha took this challenging task of ash water treatment before discharging to guard pond and complete renovation of almost unusable pond on a turn-key basis and completed the assignment in spite of space and other constraints as encountered in a running power station
